Description
A good collection of early 1970s mailing and promotional materials for the leading Kings Road and Knightsbridge shoe fashion brand Elliotts. The bulk of the material is made up of mailing pieces, featuring colour catalogues of new and existing ranges, most in their original mailing envelopes along with various promotional ephemera. Chief joy is the photography of groovy fashion shoe designs. Includes: 1. 1970 mailing for 'The New Elliott Belle Epoque" range, with supporting ephemera in original decorated envelope; 2. 1971 mailing of two brochures for Skinny Fitting and Caterpillar branded ranges, with invitation to in-store event; 3. 1971 brochure featuring small and narrow fit ranges, again with ephemera and in decorated envelope; 4. 1972 range brochures (two) and ephemera in decorated mailing pouch; 5. Unopened duplicate of above; 6.Undated fashion shoe brochure mailing; 7. Unopened duplicate of above; 8. 1975 Caterpillar and Skinny Fit brochures in folded mailing envelope; 9. 1970 fold out brochure with loose inerts and ephemera, without maling envelope; 10. Undated and still sealed mailing; 11. 1969 Elliott Narrow Fitting brochure and mailing piece; 12. 1972 Elliott For Men and Skinny Fitting brochures with mailing piece; 13. A few other items of promotional ephemera; 14. Five large high quality plastic carrier bags with 1970s' designs (two matching). Thus a most interesting archive, with much colour photography of what was trending in shoe fashion. The recipient of all of this material was Patricia Jaffé, née Milne-Henderson, noted artist, author and textile designer. All in VG condition throughout bar a little rusting to staples on one of the brochures.
