First US edition of Waley's second volume of Chinese translations. 1919 printing but bound up in 1923, as indicated by date to foot of spine cloth. Stock toned but otherwise all in VG internal order. Publisher's blue paper-covered boards, lightly marked and worn to edges, with oatmeal cloth to spine, this rather dulled. Good unclipped d/j a little dulled to spine with light wear and minor loss. Now in removable protective sleeve. 12mo.143pp
