The second edition, revised and corrected, "the whole of the first impression having been sold in a few weeks" according to Boswell's 'advertisement'. No half title, and leaf advertising Bowell's Life of Johnson is bound to rear. In general good internal order throughout. A little damp staining to foot of first few pages. Small closed tear to p.339. Very occasional marking. Otherwise generally clean and bright. Full contemporary leather, but front board detached and titlepiece largely missing from spine, so would benefit from a sympathetic rebinding.
