Description
Published in four volumes between 1853 and 1855 and here attractively bound as two. Some reordering of plates etc, but all present as required. Very occasional corrections to text in ink. Stock toned and plates spotted, but in general all is in VG internal order. One page neatly repaired to leading edge. Frontispiece map to vol.1 also has neat repair to small part of one fold. Half leather with marbled paper-covered boards, all worn to edges. 8vo. vi, 1288pp, 470pp, + appendix, indices, errata, binder's directions and list of subscribers.
