Description
Also known as Sheridan's Reducing Table, all the information needed to dilute overproof spirits for retail sale. Plus "a practical guide to reducing, fining, filtering, blending, bottling, binning, gauging, &c." Stock toned but otherwise all in VG internal order. Unless you are planning to bottle spirits, the chief interest is probably in the period advertising, printed in red and black throughout the book. Many extant and long gone brands featured. My eye was drawn to Old Bristol Dry Gin which, a doctor writes, "possesses valuable medicinal properties". Paper-covered boards with blue cloth to spine also advertising rich. Wear to boards and some grubbiness/toning towards edges. Still a most appealing volume. Scarce. 8vo. 136pp
