Description

Exceptionally scarce 1st UK edition of novel which had appeared as a serial in The Saturday Evening Post in 1927 and subsequently been filmed. Stock a little toned, with very occasional light foxing, but in general all is in VG internal order. No inscriptions. Bookseller's small label to front pastedown indicating it was first sold in St John's Newfoundland. Despite at least two trips across the Atlantic, the orange cloth with blind embossing and bright gilt titling to spine, remains in VG order, with just a little dulling to edges. VG unclipped d/j, rater toned and lightly worn to edges. Label to spine notes 'Colonial Edition'. 12mo. 272pp
