First edition, first printing of the fictional biography of The Scarlet Pimpernel, written under the pseudonym John Blakeney either by Baroness Orczy herself (who provides a forward taking the whole enterprise seriously) or by her son. Scarce in d/j, this copy is in good internal order, with spotting to the block edge only occasionally intruding onto pages. No inscriptions. Plum cloth a little marked and worn with light fading to edges and spine. VG unclipped d/j, a little worn to edges and toned to spine, now in removable protective sleeve.
