Description
Long form philosophical poem, divided into seven books. Reviewed thus by The Atlantic in April 1890: "A most business-like philosophic study, set forth in smooth lines. We start with the general principles of evolution by natural and sexual selection and the law of battle, and end with modern thought on immortality. An air of elegance pervades the work which is preserved to the last." Stock toned, but otherwise all in general good internal order. Reference library plate to front pastedown but no other evidence of library use. Green cloth worn, bumped and quite heavily marked towards dulled spine. Scarce. 12mo. vi. 190pp
