Description
Fascinating progress report on the construction of the Panama Canal as submitted to the US Senate in March 1884. As well as illustrated reports from G H Cooper and Raymond P Rodgers, there are 33 full page photographic plates, and various fold-out maps and plans including a full plan of the route of the canal at over 6 feet long, and a colour-printed geological map at c.4 feet long. Bar some light toning and minor marking, all is in VG order. The photo plates in particular are showing well. All bound in half leather with marbled paper-covered boards and matching endpapers. Boards worn to edges, but still attractive. Small split to fep at hinge. A remarkable record. 8vo. 25pp + 1pp addendum, plates and plans
