First edition of this well regarded biography of Hudson, along with VG 1951 York Festival theatre programme for 'Sounding Brass', "an absorbing play on the life of George Hudson, the York Railway King". Some spotting to edge of block, but only minor occurrences internally, otherwise pages are clean and bright. No inscriptions. Press cuttings tipped in to rear endpapers. Rust marks to front endpapers from staples of programme laid in. Smart green cloth with bright gilt titling, lightly bumped to lower corners.
