Second printing (April 1928) of first edition (January 1928). Fascinating account of trans-African expedition in eight caterpillar auto trucks. Very well illustrated throughout with photographs. Heavy foxing to block edge intruding onto page margins, sometimes further. One phrase on one page underlined in bright ink: "History weaves crowns for heroism, but man does nothing for the heroes." First blank has been neatly removed. Former owner's name in pencil to fep. Blue boards a little worn to edges and titling faded almost completely from spine. 8vo. 316pp + plates
