Description
First thus, but identified by Ford's introduction as the second much updated edition of his malting and brewing magnum opus, which first appeared under a different title in 1849. His plate (as W Ford, Maltster's Architect And Malt Agent) to front pastedown. A little spotting to block edge affecting text early and late, but otherwise rarely intruding onto pages which, bar occasional light marking are in VG order throughout. Some light pencil notation to endpapers. Three fold-out plans to rear, including large plan of malt house and kilns, with some minor repairs and a little marking and wear to edges. Well rebound with original boards and remaining part of spine strip laid on to new blue cloth. Worn but attractive. Exceptionally scarce. 8vo. viii, 304pp
