Well regarded account of Read's rural Yorkshire childhood, attractively illustrated with two wood engravings by De La Mere and a mono plate from Marc Chagall. Some spotting to edge of block only occasionally intruding onto pages which are otherwise in VG order. No inscriptions. Small collection of contemporary reviews laid in to rear. Red cloth only lightly worn but bumped to lower corners. Gilt titling to spine. G+ unclipped d/j, worn to edges, lightly marked and faded to spine and upper parts. 8vo. 82pp
