Description
A fascinating slice of London theatre history. Scott, critic for the Telegraph, Observer and Illustrated London News reprints his reviews of all the productions (x38) he has seen at the country's "leading theatre". Includes dates, cast lists, and illustrations and some properly trenchant views. Much, of course, on Henry Irving, leader of the Lyceum company. Bar a little light and only occasional marking, in general good order throughout. Block marbled to all edges and endpapers. Clifton School prize plate to front pastedown and full leather prize binding by Baker & Son of Clifton, with gilt crest and decoration. Some wear, but still a very pleasing volume. 8vo. 444pp.
