Description

Detailed management plan for Liverpool's World Heritage site, with numerous maps, photos, etc. Commissioned by Liverpool City Council in 2002 and approved in November 2003, the plan was submitted to ICOMOS and UNESCO's World Heritage Committee in support of the city's bid for World Heritage status, granted the following year. In the light of subsequent stripping of the status by UNESCO in 2021, because of 'irreversible loss' to the Victorian docks, this plan is a somewhat poignant reminder of what can go wrong in conservation. Large 4to format in ring bound folder, this is in VG+ order throughout. Exceptionally scarce as likely only a few copies produced for the bid process. 184pp
