Description
Handsomely bound seven volume set with numerous hand-coloured plates. Half red leather over red cloth Truelove & Hanson bindings decorated with two raised bands, gilt lining to boards and attractive gilt arts and crafts style decoration and titling to spine. Six of the volumes ND, but likely c.1898, published by Bradbury, Agnew, and the seventh (Hillingdon Hall) by Nimmo in 1899. Some foxing, but generally to prelims, tissue guards and end blanks, with text and plates in general VG order throughout. Bold red and black marbled endpapers with uniform bookplate to front pastedown. Gilt to top of block; some spotting to other edges. Some wear to leather and fading to spines, but nevertheless a very pleasing set, displaying well on shelf. 8vo.
