Complete run of 29 volumes of Fores's Sporting Notes & Sketches, from the first issue published at the end of 1884, through to the final in 1912. Wide-ranging collection of sporting stories, well-illustrated with 32 plates in each volume. Three vols rebound in red buckram, the remainder in publisher's decorated cloth. All show levels of wear but are in general good order throughout, bar two vols which show splitting to back strip. Occasional looseness to pages and plates but this minor. Some foxing and spotting, but stock quality good, so this at a minimum. This is the set used by author and bibliographer Chris Harte to compile his authoritative history and bibliography of the magazine. Weight c.25Kg so please enquire re shipping.
