Description
In the Library Of Useful Knowledge series. Numerous engravings throughout text, but all is greatly enhanced by several pages of handwritten notes and treatment recipes to early and late blanks, and a diverse selection of newspaper cuttings tipped in. Practical advice on dealing with foot and mouth on fep (and destruction of wasps' nests) gives way to a recipe to "bring back the hair on the knees or elsewhere" alas, marked "for a horse only". Text proper is a little toned with occasional minor marking, but in general good order. Half leather with marbled paper, heavily worn with loss to spine and tape remnants from hinge strengthening, rendering the volume, let's say characterful (or shabby), but not unattractive. This is a charity sale for Friends Of Morston Church (reg.1099831). 8vo. viii, 472pp
