Description
The first five volumes of the Norfolk And Norwich Archaeological Society journal, published between 1842 and 1859. Now very hard to find in any order, this is a near uniform set in good condition throughout with numerous engravings maps and plans, many folding, as required. All published by Charles Muskett bar vol V by Cundall et al. Occasional foxing and toning, but no major issues. One folding map in vol III has been mis-folded and is toned and creased to leading edge. Bound in to the rear of volume V is the 1846 19pp publication "Narrative of the Visit of His Majesty King Charles the Second to Norwich, in the September of the Year 1671; as related by Blomefield and Echard, and as detailed in a private unpublished letter" (Yarmouth, Charles Sloman). All volumes bound in slightly varying shades of dark green cloth, with matching embossed designs front and rear and gilt titling to spine. Vol V does not show volume number. Light wear, a little marking and occasional bumping to boards. 8vo. I. xix, 380pp; II. viii, 412pp; III. viii, 432pp; IV. viii, 370pp; V. xii, 371pp
