Description

Fascinating 1900 building and engineering products catalogue for the Turkish market, featuring French suppliers. Much on cement, but also railway construction and mining. Various principals are represented by Galata, Constantinople-based distributor Madame Tricon-Vieillot, "agents generaux pour toute la Turquie". Products detailed include various grades of Portland cement, horse-drawn and steam powered rail equipment, including a locomotive, mining, smithy and other tools. Numerous mono engravings with cement trademarks reproduced in colour. One half page missing in the tools section, and some notation there also. Stock toned, with some marking and foxing, and signs of wear including a couple of small closed tears. Paper covers rather grubby with label residue top right, and wear to spine. G minus in condition, but an exceptionally scarce and interesting trade item. 8vo. 90pp
