Twelfth edition, and designed to aid the learning of Latin by Hull Publick Grammar School master Clarke, using his method of teaching "as laid down by him in his Essay upon Education". Nepos's lives are presented in Latin with Clarke's translations into English "as Literal as possible" by their side, in an attractive two column format. Some toning and a few minor marks, but in general all in good internal order. No endpapers or prelims, bar 1pp list of other titles, before contents table and title page .
