Description

ND. 1871 (WorldCat). Block in good but toned condition with some spotting and notations throughout and interior cracking. Arthur V. Chapman July 1913 inscribed to fep, with April 25th 1871 written two pages later. Brown boards have embossed details to front and rear, with blue, black and gilt designs to front; titling to spine is bordered in dulled gilt. However boards are gradually detaching from spine, moreso to rear. Best regarded as a reading copy, if you want to read about what now seems a rather eclectic collection of imitable worthies (Doddridge, Bellot, Caxton, Dollond, Mogridge, Bewick, Linnaeus, Paley, Locke, Wilson, Drew and Clarke).
