Description
First edition of Marshall's popular novel and very much a reading copy only. Ex-Mudie's Library, with its label to front pastedown and upper board. Some marking to endpapers, but thereafter, despite light toning and signs of use, in general good internal order. Binding opening a little at title page, but all holding well. Has been in someone's library at Chatsworth House too, as plate to front pastedown records its sale in the 2010 Sotheby's 'Attic' Auction.
