Description
Remarkably, this immensely popular novel had reached 38 printings by the time of this impression in October 1922, in a period of just over a year. Offset toning to endpapers and a couple of small ink marks to fep, but otherwise all in VG, clean and bright internal order. Smart blind embossed red boards with black titling showing light shelfwear only and fading to head of spine where d/j absent. Unclipped d/j is well worn to edges, with some loss, creasing and closed tears and now in removable protective sleeve. Despite popularity still very hard to find in pre-1940s d/j. 12mo. 318pp
