Description
First US edition of this early Thirkell 'Barsetshire Chronicles' novel. Light toning to stock. Minor paper trimming fault to foot of first few pages. This copy well travelled, with stamps of the American Red Cross and of the Victory Book Campaign to endpapers. In addition, plate to front pastedown notes that this copy is from the Sotheby's Chatsworth Attic Sale of October 2010. Former owner's signature to fep. Red boards rather grubby and lightly shaken, with titling rubbed to spine and a little marking to rear. Better than a reading copy, just. 12mo. 316pp
