Second printing of first edition (both November 1955) of this unorthodox guide to French cookery, as prepared by the impoverished (and of course, fictional) Madame Delorme for her priest brother. "In parts an excruciatingly funny book, seasoned with Lister's caustic and unpredictable ribaldry," claims the jacket. Stock toned and a couple of minor marks, but for the most part all in VG clean and bright internal order. Neat name and date to fep. Purple boards lightly shelfworn, with dulled silver titling to spine. Good clipped d/j, a little worn to edges, with minor loss to foot of front panel. 8vo. [6] 183pp
