Text by Davenport Adams and illustrations by Giacomelli, and as the former admits in his preface, the latter's work is the star of the show. Full page plates and in-text illustrations of bird life and habitats abound. Stock is toned with occasional spotting, but for the most part all is in good internal order. Quarter leather with burgundy buckram, all well worn. Thus definitely not pristine and perhaps best regarded as a reading copy. 4to. 464pp
