First thus, 'deciphered' by Elizabeth Wells Gallup, with appendix and excerpt from Sir Francis Bacon's Cipher Story to rear. Tissue guarded frontispiece. Block a little toned with some light spotting and a child's pencilled drawing to rear blank, otherwise in good internal order. However, card covers, toned and marked, and endpapers are detaching from block; spine is pealing but titling is legible. Overall in fair condition and scarce in this first edition. 8vo. 17pp. xxii. 147pp
